Thirty-five million years ago, a volcanic eruption brought an island into being in the Atlantic Ocean.

The famous “levadas”, irrigation canals built by man at the beginning of the colonisation of the island, take the visitors to the depth of reality, where the laurel forest presents itself in majesty and glory alongside flowers which spring forth spontaneously, turning Madeira into a permanent flowering garden.
